DRAINAGE BOARD.

An ordinary meeting of the Christchurch District Drainage Board was held last night, and attended by Messrs F. de c. Malet (Chairman), W. Vincent, F. H. Barns, W. H. Hosking, J. H. Hewitt, and A. E. G. Rhodes.

The tender of Messrs Broth and McDonald was accepted for some email repairs to machinery at the pumping station, and the Works Committee's report was adopted. Accounts, amounting to £523 9* Id, were passed for payment. Mr Hcsking gave notice to move, —That the Board, take into its consideration the advisability of making the Christchuroh drainage area into two districts, to be called the inner and outer areas, for rating purposes; also, what legislation is necessary to same.
