Thb National Mobtqagh and Agbnot Coxtakt or Naw Zjcaland, Limited, report on the live stock market for the week ending Friday,the 25th, as follows :— At the Addington Yards on Wednesday, ; the 23rd, 4367 sheep were yarded. The entry of fat sheep was a small one, but the . quality throughout was unusually good. ' The market was a great improvement on what we have experienced of late, there ' beiog plenty of competition, and values ' advanced from Is to Is 6d per head on last ! week's rates. We quote 2|d to 2f d per lb as the average price for the day. Prime ' crossbred wethers, heavy weights, made '. 183 6d to 19s 9d, one picked pen making 225; good medium weights, 16s 6d to 17a 3d; ' lighter, I*3 6d to 15s 6d; mixed croßsbreds, 13a to 14s 6d;. merinos, a very small entry, ; only five pens on offer, 13s 3d, 133, 11s . 3d, and I2e 3d. -Two-pens of shorn . forward freely, and sold for best at 10b, 12s, to 13s; medium, 7s 6d to 9a j inferior," 53 . and 6a. store sheep did not sell freely, . and vendors had to accept a reduction on lato rates of Is to Is 6d per head; 4-tooth , cross-bred wetheramade Its 9d; merino wethers in fair eoaditaon, mixed ages, Ss 9d}flged ineriao ewes, in lamb, 4ff 6d; L crossbred; ewea_aeß lambs, 123; hoggeta made, for very good, 12 j; good, 10a tolps , Ba. In the store cattle market little business was trans- ' acted, buyers _, being very cautious in I operating. Pigs—96 penned. A very small ' entry, but quite enough for requirements. , The low prices at present ruling appear likely to continue for some months.
