Globe—The piece of new road from the battery to the main shaft will be completed lw Thursday next, when the castings and chamber is now almost completed, the second set having been put in this week. The water race and nearly all the other surface works are out of hand, the prevailing weather having been very favorable. Inglewood Extended—There is now about 130 tons of stone to gras3, and sloping is prbceediog. The hands in the main suait will be finished during the incoming week. The Company cannot, however, start crushing until rain comes. Wealth of Nations —A chamber is being eat out preparatory to starting thetnain abaft from the main level. The wince is now down something over 80ft, and carries a reef from Sft to 6ft thick. The manager informs mc that the reef looks much better «t the present time than it has done for sometime past. It is intended to shortly drive north of the main level along the line of reef to test the lode in that direction. Happy Valley—The manager reports ' being 33ft down inthe winze, with a good eobd'reef still going down. Sureka—Twenty-nine feet was driven in -fee incline last week, and the drive is now only 25ft from the boundary of the Com- ■ pany's ground, and a survey is now to be made to locate tie reef. , -, ■ - . There ia only one battery return to hand for the past week, namely, that of the Keep-it-Daxk, which is 5430z of amalgam for we week. A dividend of Is 7d is expected. - Golden Treasure—At the usual monthly meeting of directors, held on Saturday evening it was resolved that all hands should be knocked off for the present, in consequence of the poorness of the- stone lteing opened up. One of the directors and tie manage? proceed to the mine en Mon-day'(to-morrow) for the purpose of taking .ever charge ot the company s plant from the mine manager. The rest of the directors will visit the mine to-morrow for the purpose of deciding upon the course to be driven, iv order that the strictest economy shou'd be exercised until a payable reef is etrttok.
