The Premier and Minister of Mines, and a large party of citizens, weni to Brunnerton to-day, where they were received by a band and large crowd of people. After receiving a local deputation on various questions, such as obtaining freehold titles to ground now occupied by miners 'as residence areas, ''more bridge accommodation across the river, and other matters, the party visited the C?al Pit Heath mine, and were afterwards banquetted in Brunner mine in a part known as the " pip," about 130 feet below the level of the Grey Eiver. About 150 persons were present. Afterwards the party were taken to the Harbor Works, -where the Premier laid- the foundationstone of the works now being initiated by the Harbor Board. It was a block of atone fifteen tons. Mr Larnach laid a second one nearly as large. During their stay the Ministers have been-interviewed on a variety of local matters, but no definite pledges were made in any: case that would entail expenditure.
