"VTOTICE is Hereby Given that aMEET_I3I ING of the Council of the County of Selwyn will be held at the Chambers of the said Council, in the city of Christchurch, on TUESDAY, the 24th day of February, 1885, at 10.30 a m., and that at such meeting the following resolution will be proposed, viz.:— - "That the Council do make a Special \ ■" ' Order, altering the boundaries of the Heathcote Biding, and that such Special Order shall be in the words and figures following, that is to say— THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF SELWYN. In the matter of the Counties Act, 1876, and the Acts amending the same. ; Special Order altering the boundaries of the Heathcote Biding of the County of Selwyn. Whereas, by a Proclamation, dated the 21st day of October, 1884, the boundaries of the Counties of Akaroa and Selwyn, respectively, were altered so as to include within the County of Selwyn, the Road District of Tai Tapu, which was theretofore included in the County of Akaroa. And whereas a petition has been presented to the Council of the said County of Selwyn, praying that the said Tai Tapu Boad District maybe included .within the boundaries of the Heathcote Biding of the said County. Now, therefore, the Council of the County of Selwyn, in pursuance and exercise of the power given to it by the Counties Act, 1876, and of every other power enabling' it in that behalf, doth hereby ordain and declare that the said Boad District of Tai Tapu, as described in the " New Zealand Gazette" for 1884, page 1208, shall be added to the Heathcote Biding, and that the boundaries of the said Biding shall henceforth be those set forth in the schedule hereto. SCHEDULE. Heathcote Biding, bounded on the northward by the Avon Biding and the city of Christchurch; on the eastward by the sea; en the south-eastward by Lyttelton harbor, the borough of Lyttelton and the Akaroa County to Biver Halswell; and on the southwestward and westward by the Biver Halswell to the old river-bed, and the west edge of the old river-bed to the Great South road.
