Since oar last report appeared business ias been quiet in the import market, as is agoal tow&xds the close of the month, the trade contenting themselves by purchasing merely for sorting up purposes. The direct liner steamship Victory has arrived aft Fort Chalmers, and maybe looked for at Ihia port in a few days. Sugars confune to t» offered at prices favoring purchasers, and Bales are fairly numerous. 9eaa do not attract much attention. High test kerosene ia in request, stocks at preeeat held being hardly sufficient for re«drements. Tinned salmon meets with nir sales at slightly reduced rates. Vinegar 3u,% regular sales at agents' quotations. Serosa ordinary trade requirements, aeen but little bnaiaeaa.
