ROSSA'S " RESOURCES."

before us a copy of O'Donovan Bossa's paper, the " United Irishman," post-dated May 31st. The number contains a couple of columns of extracts from letters received by the editor from persons who had enclosed money to the " Skirmishing Fond." As come of these letters are remarkable we subjoin a few extracts, which may be read with interest just now, and especially in view of the proposal made in one-or two quarters that Bossa should be imprisoned by the American authorities and his paper suppressed. John Dillon, of the Onondasja Hotel, Syracuse, writes:—"Find enclosed one dollar for that dynamite paper of yours. It's the devil's own paper. Johnny Bull says it's a niughfcy paper, an<? so it is. It talks a good deal about revolvers, rifles, &c. A rifle bullet is a very ignorant thing. I say it is ignorant because it doesn't stop in its course to distinguish between a Eoyal Duke and a Connaught Ranger. I say, friend Bossa, give old Johnny more dynamite and mere bullets, and you will hear from mc again pretty soon." John B. King, whom Rossa terms affectionately " that wild Irish Belfast man," enclosed a dollar for " Dear Christianslave Bossa," "to buy dynamite to free Ireland from Eome - Anglo rule." Mr King concludes with a stave or two of rhyme -.— Three hearty cheers, dear Bossa, we raised for you so-night; And iwell was it responded to by the friends of dynamite. To mention them in numbers is a thing I couldn't do, For thousands hoarse were cheering for dynamite and you. So keep your courage up, my boy, and strike another blow That will send the British banner to the lowest pit below. John Burns, of Armagh, encloses six dollars, and says—" Bossa, the friends of' Ireland in this city think it is about time that General * Guilty, my Lord, , should move on the enemy's line, in the shape of another telegram to Gladstone; or call a convention and frighten the life out of Harcourt." Mr John Bunts also is possessed of the divine afflatus, but his fire does not crackle as it burns. W. P. Hanley, of Brnnean Valley, sends " 2dols for your paper and Idol for dynamite " to help to tear " London or Dublin | Castle to pieces." The writer hopes Bossa will "not forget Bed Jim and Coleinan, the Mayo fiend." Mr Hanley concludes thus v—" You can rely on mc; I will back you both up as long as I can command a dollar. All lam afraid of is that I will be too old to take a hand at blood-spilling. It may be wrong for mc to say so, but I delight to look at my enemy's claret flowing. I can look at it with a mind as placid as when I look on water running in a brook." Joseph O'Doherty and John Campbell, of Washington, say:—" Enclosed find bill of exchange for 7s 9d for dynamite or coal oil to help to blast or burn the old pirate of the world. If you have any trouble in cashing the bill, give it to Patrick Ford; he will cash it for you. He knows its origin." Pat Maher, of South Banbo, Indiana, sends Sdola " for some medicine for Gladatone." " Next comes " (we quote the " United Irishman ") a letter from a man who was ons of the score of men that started the Phoenix Society eight-and-twenty years ago. It was he who drew up the resolutions that were sent (with a bad farthing) to the Town Commissioners of Carrick-pn-Suir when they appealed for a subscription to catch some Carrick 'rebel , who had chalked an English soldier, with an Irish pike through his body, on a wooden gate of the town, the time of the Indian mutiny." This gentleman, is confident that every Irishman, sooner or later, will, go in for the ''potent agency." There are many other letters, but the foregoing are the most piquant.—"Pall Mall Budget."
