THE STANMORE ELECTION.
TO TEX EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sib, —In reference to the Stanmore election I am bound to state that what Mr Pilliet wrote to the Returning Officer is perfectly correct. (I did not read the letter until this morning.) I did refuse to be seconded by Mr Pilliet, and Mr Beatson told mc I could second myself j therefore I did so, and got the reporters to scratch out Mr Pilliet's name and substitute my own. Tours, &c, Olives Wanset. Arborfield, New Brighton, July 23rd, 1884.
