LINWOOD TOWN BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of the above Board was held on Monday evening last at 1 p.m. Present—Messrs Clephane, Collier. E. Toomer, Hale, H. Toonaer, and Goodman. Mr Clephane was voted to the ohair. The following correspondence was read:—j?roni. W. Martin re Bale of property. J. B. Why to, M.H.R.> stating that he would send the Board a copy of the proposed measure for endowing boroughs and town districts "with lands within their 'boundaries, when printed. From Treasury* advising the remittance of £4 lOe, 'being fines imposed under''the Dog Registration Act. W. P. Cowliehaw, stating that Mr J. Sband and he would each give JBI towards filling njjr the hollow place m the Canal Resorve road. The Finance .Committee reported r— The receipts for the- past fortnight £106 12s; Cr. balance at Bank of Now Zealand, JBIOS 17fl lid. That the-offer of Messrs Cowlishaw and: Shand be accepted. Mr H. Toomer gave notice that at the next meeting he would move-- rt That the resolution passed at the meeting held on July 2nd, re abandoning the proposed diversion of Jackson's Creek, be reaoinded." The Clerk was instructed to inform Messrs J. S. Lane and W. Dearsley that aa all other owners affected by Jackson's Creek had agreed to pay their fall share towards the diversion of the same, the Board hoped they would wooneider their dedefon." Eesolved—That the Clerk make inquiries of the Engineer to the Drainage Board, concerning the level of the storm water drain in Stanmore road, with a view to draining Gloucester street.
