SERIOUS SHOOTING ACCIDENT.
Shortly after three o'clock yesterday afternoon a lad named William Visor wu brought to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from an ugly bullet wound in the upper part of his left arm. It appears that he, in company with another lad named Thomas H. Roberts, were shooting small birds on a spare piece of land called the "run" on the North belt, and at the time mentioned Eoberta was on. the point of re-loading his weapon aot being aware that there was a single charge remaining in it. By some means this charge exploded, and the bullet struck Visor, who was standing but about three yards away. The weapon used was a small revolver, but by the appearance of the wound, being, as it is, so near the shoulder joint, it is feared serious conseqneaees will ensue.
