TRIAL OP SHEEP DIP.

Yesterday, at the invitation of Mr E. Dombrais, the local agent for Little's Sheep Dip, a number of gentlemen proceeded to Messrs Henderson and Mcßeath's dip on the Lincoln road to witness a trial of the specific. The party was a thoroughly representative oce, including some of the officials of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association and one of the Inspectors of Sheep. A start vat made shortly after nine o'clock in a fourdrag tooled by Mr H. McAlpine. Oα arrival the sheep were awaiting in the yards, and no time wu lost in getting to work. The mixture was made in the strength of eight

gallons of dip toeighi hundred ga'.loos of tf-ater or one in a Luiultvd. Tne slueo JipitsU were mostly Border-Leicesters pretty heavily woolled, and the average time of remaining in the dip was ten seconds. The tint lot passed through having been yarded, aa examination was made by those present. The result proved that, so far as could be seen, the dip had been most efiisacions. Not only were all the ticks—of which a lar*-e number were in the sheep —dead, but the wool ha>l a glossy appearance, being thoronghly cleansed and brighteued. The experts present after carefully examining all the lots of sheep dippedwerennanimons in the opinion thatthe claim made by the agents of the insectdestroying power of the dip had beeu most thoroughly borne out. As to the «ffeo% on the wool, it is of course too esrly at present to pronouncs upon that. The sheep will be carefully examined for tbid in about a fortnight, when the efficiency of the dip as a means of improving the quality of the wool or otherwise will be demonstrated. About 247 sheep were paasei through and then an examination of the dip shewed that the total quantity had been reduced by 300 gallons, or a little over a gallon psr sheep. The weather was magnificent for the occasion, and generally Mr Dombrain is to be congratulated upon the very successful issue ! of the trial.
