HAYWARD. County Council. In the matter of a Bill intituled an Act to amend the Malvern Water Race Transfer Act, 1878. IVTOTICE is hereby given that application — .% is intended to be made at the next Session of the General Assembly of New Zealand by the Selwyn County Council for leave to introduce a Bill to amend the Malvern Water Race Transfer Act, 1878, and to enable the said Council, by special order, to make and levy a pedal rate on all rateable property within the district for the purpose of securing the repayment of the monies to be borrowed as therein mentioned with interest. From time to time, as occasion may require, to borrow and take up at interest any sum or sums of money not exceeding in the whole the sum of fifty I thousand pounds on the security of the said j rate, for the purpose of comstruct—g completing, extending, enlarging, repairing, and maintaining the said water race and the works connected therewith, and of otherwise carrying into effect the provisions of the said Malvern Water Race Transfer Act, 1878, and for paying all expenses incidental to the raising and borrowing of Bach monies. To secure to the lender or lenders of such monies the re-payment thereof, with interest, by debentures to be i-Bued under the authority of this Act. To pay and apply the net proceeds of the said rate in manner following, that is to say :— Firstly—ln payment of the interest on the sum or sums of money to be borrowed. Secondly—ln providing a sinking fund for the re-payment of tho principal of such monies. Thirdly—ln maintaining the said water race. Notice is hereby further given that copies of the proposed Bill may be obtained at the offices of Messieurs Joynt and Perceval, Solicitors, Christchurch, and at the following places:— Selwyn County Council offices, Christchurch. East Malvern Road Board office. Courtenay Road Board office. The following are the boundaries 'of the district referred to in the above-named Bill:—All that area of land situate in the provincial district of Canterbury, and estimated to contain by admeasurement one hundred and twenty-nine thousand acres, bounded as follows — Commencing at the lower mouth of the Malvern Water Race tunnel, thence by a line in a northeasterly direction to the top of the Kowai terrace at the West Coast road, cutting thence along the top of the terrace down the Kowai and Waimakariri rivers to the north east angle of R.S. 3635, thence along the east boundary of the said section to the north side of the West Coast read, thence along the north side of the said road to the west boundary of the Templeton road district, thence along the said boundary to the north side of the railway line, thence along side the north side of the railway, line to the river Selwyn, thence along the east bank of the Selwyn and Hawkins rivers to the Dalethorperoad, thence along the east side of the road forming the east boundary of R.S. 5802, and south east boundaries of sections 5990,5991, 5992, 10740, and 13632 to its junction with the Tramway Beßerve, thence along the south side of the Tramway Reserve to the Malvern Water Race, thence along the water race to the commencing point.
