The Union Steamship s.s Tβ Anau arrived yesterday at 9 a.m. from Port Chalmers and Melbourne, en route to Wellington and Northern porta. She left last night. The Union Steamship Company's s.e. Weilington arrived from Nelson, Picton, and Wellington at 5.30 a.m. yesterday, and sailed for Akaroa and Port Chalmers at 2 Dm. The barqae Lanarkshire, Captain "WilMe, arrived yesterday from Brisbane. She left there on the 24th nit., and has brought a quantity of native coal on account of the master. The vessel will load here in behalf of the New Zealand Shipping Company for the old country. She was berthed at No. 5 jetty on arrival. The schooner Dido arrived from Waitapu yesterday, having left there on Saturday last. She brought a cargo of timber for Messrs T. andE.Pavitt. The Emerald was loading for this port at Anahan last Saturday. Captain Sohenkel. of the Prince Alfred, reports the schooners Torea and May King at Kaipara loading for this port when he left there. The schooner Sissy arrived yesterday from Kaipara with a cargo of timber. She left there Hay 30th. The barque Assel sailed yesterday for Cork or Falmonth for orders, despatched by Meseis Eoyse, Stead and Co. The German barque Gemma, from New York, has discharged the Dunedin portion of her cargo, and after taking in a quantity of manufactured timber, she wDI come on here from Port Chalmera to put out the remainder of her original cargo. The Bialto had about 250 tons deadweight cargo to put out at Port Chalmers on last Monday to complete her discharging. She had then about a like quantity of grain on board towards her outward cargo, anditwaseaid would take as much more in, and come on to this port to fill vp for home. ■ The Island City arrived hence at Sydney Hay 30th, and the Edith May reached Adelaide May29th. . _ . , The schooner Saucy Lass, from Picton, and the Wave of Life, timber laden, arrived yesterday. The former came in to a berth at No. 5. Captain Callow of the Saucy Lass reports the Ocean Bird and Elizabeth Curie had left Picton for this port on Sunday last. The Herald was to leave there on Monday for here. The Cleopatra, from Greymonth, arrived yesterday with a cargo of coal for her owner, jjj c. W. Turner, and came in to a berth at No. 6 jetty. She left Greymouth on Friday last The barque Eose M. cleared yesterday for Whangaroa with part of original cargo of spokes from Newcastle. ; All claims against the inward cargo of the New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Gran must be rendered to-day to the Company.
