County Council. In the matter of a Bill intituled as Act to amend the Malvern Water Bace Transfer Aot, 1878. NOTICE ia hereby given that application is intended to be made at the next Session of the General Assembly of New Zealand by the Selwyn County Conncil for leare to introduce a Bill to amend the Malvern Water Bace Transfer Act, 1878, and to enable the eaid Council, by special order, to make and lery a pecial rate on all rateable property within the district for the purpose of securing the repayment of the monies to be borrowed as therein mentioned with interest. From time to time, as occasion may require, to borrow and take up at interest any sum or sums of money not exceeding in the whole the sum of fifty thousand pounds on the security of the said rate, for the purpose of constructing completing, extending, enlarging, repairing, and maintaining the eaid water race and the works connected therewith, and of otherwise carrying into effect the provisions of the said Malvern Water Baoe Transfer Act, 1878, and for paying all expenses incidental to the raising and borrowing of such monies. To secure to the lender or lenders of snek monies the re-payment thereof, with interest, by debentures to be issued under the authority of this Act. To pay and apply the net prooeeda of the aatt rate in manner following, that is to say:— Firstly—ln payment of the interest on the aum or sums of money to be borrowed. Secondly—ln providing a sinking fund for the re-payment of the principal ol! such monies. Thirdly—ln maintaining the eaid water race* Notice is hereby further given that copies of the proposed Bill may be obtained at tha offices of Messieurs Joynt and Perceval, Solicitors, Christchuroh, and at the following places:— - Selwyn County Conncil offioes, Cbristchuich. East Malvern fioad Board office. Courtenay Road Board office. The following are the boundaries 'of the district referred to in the above-named Bill:—All that area of land situate in the provincial district of Canterbury, and estimated to contain by admeasurement one hundred and twenty-nine thousand acres, bounded as follows —Commencing at the bwer month of the Malvern Water Bace tunnel, thence by a line in a northeasterly direction to the top of the Kowai terrace at the West Coast road, cutting thence along the top of the terrace down she Kowai and Waimakariri rivers to the north east angle of B.S. 3635, thence along the east boundary of the said eeotion to the north Bide of the West Coast read, thence along the north side of the said road to the west boundary of the Templeton road distriqt, thence along the said boundary to the north side of the railway line, thenoe along side the north side of the railway line to the river Selwyn, thence along the east bank of the Selwyn and Hawkins rivers to the Dalethorpe road, thence along the east Bide of the road forming tho east boundary of E.S. 5802, and south east boundaries of sections 5990,5991, 5992, 10740, and 13632 to its junction with the Tramway Beeerve, thenoe along the south side of the Tramway Reserve to the Malvern Water Bace, thence along the water raoe to the commencing point.

Notice is hereby given that the following amended description of the district referred to in the above-named Bill, is intended to be substituted for that given above, viz:— All that area of Land situate in the provincial district of Canterbury, and estimated to contain by admeasurement 89,525 acres, bounded as follows:—Commencing at the south corner of B.S. 4708, thence along the eastern boundary of B.S. 4708 to the lower Waimakariri road, thence along the southern boundary line of the road to the north-eaet corner of 8.8. 15744, thencealong the eastern boundary of the said section to the north corner of B.S. 17637, thence along the north boundary of B.S. 17637 and south boundary of B.S. 14865 to the Bacecourse bill and Bleakhouse road, thence alongfthe southern boundary of the road to the north-west corner of B.S. 14866, thencealongits western boundary of B.S 14866 to the northern boundary of B.S. 18489, thence along the northern boundaries of B.S. 18489, Beserve 1329, B.S. 10233,14691,. 14970,16237,12285,12289, 14854, 14517, 8995, 9135,10181, 3743, and the eastern boundary of B.S. 3743 to the Homebueh road, thence along the north boundary of the Homebush road to the Kirwee road, thence along the east boundary of the Kirwee road to the north-west cornerjt B.S. 8894; thence along the north boundaries of B.S. 8894, 8866,8989, 6721 to the public road, thence along the northern boundary line of the public road to the south-west corner of B.S. 5782, thence along the eastern boundary of the Sandy Knolls road to the south-weet corner of 8.8. 6467, thence along the north boundary of the road to the south-west corner of B.S. 20658* thence along the east boundary of the road to the south-west corner of Beserve 1455, thence along the south-western boundary of Beserve 1455 and 8.8. 22647, thence along the east side of the public road to the north corner of B.BF. 7743, thence- along the south-west boundary of Beserve 720 and B.S. 8163 and 7795, theaee along the south-eastern boundary of 7795 and 7569 and the north-eastern boundary of B.S. 4962 to the north side of the Bailway Beserve, thence along the northern boundary of the Bailway Reserve to the east corner of B.S. 4256, thence along the south . boundary of the public read up the bank of the Selwyn river to the south-east corner of B.S. 15024, and thence along the south boundary of the road to the north corner of B.S. 16011, thence along the east boundary of the road to the bank of the river Hawkins, thence along the left bank of the river Hawkins to the west corner of B.S. 4460, thence along the north boundary of B.S. 4460 and west and north boundaries or 15106 to the Malvern Bailway Beserve, thence along the west boundary of the Bailway Beserve to a point opposite to the commencing point, and thence across the Beserve to thu commencing point.
