After he left he- found a pair nf boot tops missing. Pollowe& the accused, and j found the tops in Mβ possession at the Albion Hotel. I gave him into custody. He was muddled with drink all that day. Previously he had been very steady an<? was "a ; good workman. A. H. Hardeoke, licensee of the Albion Hotel, stated that accused offered him the boot tops for 7a 6d, saying he wanted to go to Christohurch, Constable 3STejl deposed to arresting the prisoner. Accused, denied knowing anything of the matter.
