A meeting of this Board waa held on Siturduy, at the office*, Durauchdlo'e Bay. The members present were Messrs E. Ohappell (chairman), McDonald, o;id Bhadboit. Tenders wore ordered to bo called for noma works. Eugene JDuliorre wrote complaining that the contractors far Odell'e road wore encroaching on hia property. Tho Board regarded tho report en frivolous, The trustee in tho estate of William Multby rcquoeted that any payments coming to the bankrupt be paid through the trustee. A report was received from the engineer allowing stone culverts to be used instead of pipoain tho Mount Boeau road. A request was received from, the secretary of the Head cf tho Bay race committee for leave to ereot stalls on the day o£ the races. The request wae granted. Mr A. J, McQrogor was appointed valuer for tho district and to represent tho Board at the Assessment Court. It was arranged that the annual oleotion of members bo held on Saturday, 3rd January. It woe further reaolvod that there be three polling places in the district, viz., at the offiop, Duvauchejlle'e Bay, Akaroa and Wainui. Tho Ij'oard direoted that tho public meeting, as required by the Publio Worke Act-, for the pnrpose of considering tho quention of closing the old road through Eliodes' Fh>, Wainui, be held on Friday, 26th December. The Board resolved to aak tho manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Cbriatehurch, for en advance of £1000 for six months, to enable them to meet ourront engagements. Accounts to the amount of £695 14i were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
