A commission lately appointed by the Prussian Government to investigate the best class of inks to be employed for official purposes have just presented their report. They state that aniline inks (are not suited for this purpose, because they can be easily washed away, especially by preparations of chlorine. Inks in the composition of which alizari (Adrianople red) is employed, can be obliterated less easily. But they are of opinion that the best of all is made from gall nuts, and recommend that it shall b* used for official purposes, and for all documents the preservation of which is of importance.
