ST. JOHN'S, LEESTON.

The annual meeting of parishioners was held at th* Boad Board office, Leeston, on Thursday. Present—The Bey. W. Harper (in the chair), Messrs C. T. Dudley, W. D. Lawrence, A. Loe, E. Barringer, W. Ford, S. Duraat, and W. Bean. The proceedings were opened with prayer. Mr Harper referred to the parish work during the last year, and congratulated the members on the additions-which had been made to the Church. The cost had been about £275, and had been paid in full, leaving a balance in hand of £19. £10 had been since expended on gates, leaving £9 still. to the good. The Sunday school, under the supervision of Mr Chapman and Misses Loe and Dorent, has increased 100 per cent. He wished to thank Mr Baldwin for the great care and interest he had always-taken in his position as organist and choir-master, and regretted that he was compelled to resign oa account of living at co great a distance away. Votes of thanks were passed.to the outgoine officers and to the present choir-master (Mr Barringer) and choir. The ffnn"id report submitted by the chnrchwirdens and financial statement were considered very satisfactory, as, after paying all claims, there would be a credit balance. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year:—Churchwardens—Messrs W. G. Lunn and O. T. Dudley; "Vestrymen— Messrs W. D. Lawrence, H. H. Chapman, J. J. Loe, A. Loe, H. Watts, J. Baldwin, S. Dnrant, and E. Barringer. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings.
