ROAD BOARDS.
HEATHCOTE-
-The «J»oye_oard met on .Friday, the 21st inst, at 10 am. Present—Messrs R: Clephane (chairman), W. Hawker, W. Attwood, and J. O'Neill. The clerk reported the receipts for the fortnight to be £12,17s 2d. The chair-j man reported the result of interview with committee of Selwyn County Council. The' clerk was instructed to write to Drainage Board, informing them of the level the Board wants the footpath oh the siuth side of. the Ferry road. The following eo—espondence : was read and; considered: —Messrs Cooksle-y and Son re extension of time to complete con-. tract. One month was granted. Mr WJ Sparkes re verandah in front of .tore at, Ashbourn. Granted subject to the usual conditions. Mr A. Appleby re soil at Sumner. Granted • subject to - reference to foreman as to place it can be obtained. Mr J. H. Stringer, calling attention to certain gone fences. To be attended-, to. Pnblio Works Department, asking for plana of district engineering to be mode; as to cost of getting plan, of district lithographed. A tender was accepted for each of the work*; advertised. After raising accounts for £137 8. 9d, the Board adjourned.
