JUSTICE AT SOUTHBRIDGE.
TO THB EDITOB OJf THB PBBS3. Sib, —I notice in your issue of the 22nd instant some remarks on the want of Justices in Christohurch. I myself think tbat you are well off to get a Magistrate any time of the day, for really on Friday, the 21st inst., there were a great many eases for hearing at Southbridge, one especially from Alford Forest. The sergeant of police, Clerk of the Bench and other officials were present from 10 a.m. till 11.15 and neither Magistrate nor Justice appeared. Afterwards the Clerk of the Bench informed us that if he could procures magistrate in a week or two we would get due notice thereof. Beally if i his state of things is allowed from to time to go on I do not wonder that crime ie increasing. Yours, &c, Naiu>mvbb.
