ARRIVAL OF THE AMERICAN BARQUE SIGNAL, FROM NEW YORK VIA SYDNEY.

This admirable looking representative of the stars and stripes entered the harbor on Saturday afternoon, from New Tork, having called at Sydney, and remained there from tbe 26th to the 29th December. She left New York on A-gust3l-t, had a long dreary time of it to the equator, which was crossed on October 14th, in longitude 29.30 west. _he S.E. trades were moderate in force, and the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope was crossed on the 12th November; fqpm thence to the S.W. Cape of Tasmania, which waa rounded on December 4th, she -was carried by SW. to N.W. winds, thence variable winds to arrival at Sydney on the 26th December. Left Sydney oa the 29th, had easterly winds for ten solid days, then gale from the westward for twenty-.onrhonrs.f ollowed hy light winds and calms to arrival. She is commanded by Captain Whitney, who is on his first visit to Canterbury. Particulars of her cargo wfll be found elsewhere under the head of imports, with Messrs J. and G. Bob-its as the consignees. Her agents are Messrs Cuff and Graham.
