Satubday, Januaby 18. '• [Before Dr. Donald and H. R. Webb, Esq., J.P.] Dbsebxtng Seamen.—Acting Detective Montray testified that he arrested J. H. Herman and James' Roach, deserters from the American barque Willard Mudgett, which sailed a week ago for Callao. Sergeant-major O'Grady asked tbe Bench to remand the prisoners for a week, to allow him to see the American Consul. Granted. Bbbach of the Licensing.!--w.—A charge against Vincent Belgrave, of the Lyttelton Hotel, for selling liquor on Sunday last to other than bona fide boarders, was dismissed for want of satisfactory evidence. A similar charge against P. O'Brien, of the Empire Hotel, fell through from the same cause.
