THE ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB PBKSS. Srs, —It seems a great pity that, owing to want of tact on the part of the Council, the Acclimatisation Society is about to lose the services df Mr Beck, the curator, who is, as Dγ Campbell says in his letter yesterday, a man possessing high qualifications for tho office he now holds. I believe the majority of the members of the society are in favour of the curator remaining in office; but as he has decided that he cannot work with tho present council, it would be better to call a general meeting for an early date, so that the feeling of the members on the present management might be tested. Perhaps Dr Campbell, in the interest of the society, will take the necessary steps to secure such a meeting. Yours, &c., W. Christchurch, May 23rd.
