BLQNDIN'S EXHIBITION.
TO THE EDITOR OP THB PRESS. Sir,—Notwithstanding the nuisance which would have been 0-casioned to a few individuals by this exhibition, if it had een allowed to continue in Latimer square, I still think that it would have been more advisable to have allowed tbe exhibition to remain there. My reason for this is, that there will be very great danger incurred in Anderson's paddock from the chance- of fire. There will no doubt be some thousands of people in and around the paddock, which has a high gorse fence. The propensity that some people have, especially when not quite sober, to throw lighted matches into gorse fences is unfortunately too well known. I need hardly point oat what would be the fearful result in case the gorse round this paddock took fire. If at the time there should be anything like five thousand people the rush to get out through the narrow entrance would be frightfu.. There will also be considerable danger from M. Blondin's fireworks setting the gorse alight. I would therefore sugges: to the City Council, whose duty it is to see that all exhibitions of a public kind are held in safe places, that they should insist on the gorse being cat. Yours, kc, Citizen;
