OBJECTIONS TO VITE.

TO THE EDITOR OF THEPRESS. SlK—Upon looking over the Ist of persons objected to being on t:»e lectori roll for the years 1875-6, I fiad tb:d uav naie as well as others is intended to be st.uc; off withont any reason whatever. I have been on the electoral roi for Christchnrch as a freeholder for th« last fifteen years, and still hold the same salification. Knowing that you, sir, in yur valuable columns, have very prominentlypointed out the necessity of the people loking after their political interests, and fnm time to time have endeavored to enlighta them how to do it, I have taken the libertyof addressing you in print to know wha course to adopt, and who is to blame for tals state of things ? Surely it is enough trotblc in the first instance to get the registration properly done, and it is possible that many lectors, in disgust at seeing these unfounded tbjections, will not attempt to sustain theu claims to vote, and will be thereby disfranchised. Yours, &c., En^uieee. Christchurch, May 13th, 1875. [The qualification in virtue of vhich our correspondent is on the roll for Chistchurch East is described, not as freeholi, bat- as leasehold. The ground of objeetioi is that he has ceased to possess the qualification. We observe that his name appears on the Avon roll, and is objected to there also for the same reason. The Court for the Eevision ol the Christchurch rolls will be held at the City Council Chamber on Tuesday, and, .for the revision of the Avon roll, at the same place on Wednesday.—Ed. Peess.]
