POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations :— For the United Kingdom, Continent of Kurope, Asia, Africa, and America (via San Francisco), also the Sandwich Islands and Northern Provinces of New Zealand per s.s. Mongol, on Wednesday, 11th March, at 2 p.m. Late letters may be posted with the usual fee till 2.40 p.m. on Wednesday, llth March ; newspapers at 1 p.m. For the Northern Provinces of New ZcaZculand, per s.s. Rangatira, on Thursday, the 12th instant, at 4 p.m. For Dunedin. per the s.s. Ladybird, on Thursday, the 12tb, at 11.30 a.m. For Akaroa, Timaru, and Port Chalmers, per Beautiful Star, on Thursday, the 12th, at 4.30 p.m. For Wellington, Nelson, and the Australian Colonies per s.s. Omeo, this day, at 2 p.m. Telegrams for Australia may be forwarded from the Telegraph Office to the Bluff (Campbelltown), till 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10th, to catch the mail closing there at 10 a.m. A Post-office has been established in Colombo street south, opposite Cattle Show Grounds. Mails will be dispatched daily at 8 a.m., and arrive daily at 11 a.m. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
