PORT OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations :— For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Asia, Africa, and America (via San Francisco), also the Sandwich Islands and Northern Provinces of New Zealand per s.B. Mongol, on Wednesday, 11th March, at 2 p.m. Money orders and registered letters this day, at 5 p.m. Late letters may be posted with the usual fee till 2.40 p.m. on Wednesday, llth March. For the Northern Provinces of New ZeaZenland, per s.s. Rangatira, on Thursday, the 12th instant, at 4 p.m. For Dunedin, per the s.s. Ladybird, on Thursday, the 12th, at 11.30 a.m. For Akaroa, Timaru, and Port Chalmerp, per Beautiful Star, on Thursday, the 12th, at 4.30 p.m. For Wellington, Nelson, and the Australian Colonies per s.s. Omeo, on Tuesday, March 10th, at 2 p.m. Telegrams for Australia may be forwarded from the Telegraph Office to the Bluff (Campbelltown), till 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10th, to catch the mail closing there at 10 a.m. A Po3t-ofnce has been established in Colombo street south, opposite Cattle Show Grounds.
