CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

A meeting of the committee of the above was held yesterday afternoon at the rooms Cashel street. Present — Messrs Hassal, Gould, Inglis, Aynsley, L. Coates, and W. H. Lane. In the absence of the deputy-chairman, Mr Aynsley was voted to the chair. A letter was read from Mr J. L. Coster, tendering his resignation as chairman which waa accepted. The meeting then closed. The usual monthly meeting was then held. Present —Sir J. C. Wilson, Messrs Gould, Lane, Cuff, Booth, Aynsley, Inglis, Fletcher, Matson, Jameson, Cunningham, Coates, Bird (hon sec), Carrick, Hassal, J. D. Macpherson, D. Craig. On the motion of Mr Inglis, Mr Aynsley took the chair. The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and confirmed. The following gentlemen were elected as members of the Chamber—Messrs Charles A. Pritchard, Joseph Gould, and Aicken, D. Craig, C. Newton. The Chairman stated that the Chamber had received the resignation of Mr J. L. Coster, their Chairman, and it would therefore be necessary for the Chamber later on to elect some gentleman to fill the vacancy. The meeting then proceeded to nominate a. chairman in place of Mr J. L. Coster resigned. A ballot was taken, wben Mr Dymock was elected as President of the Chamber. The Chairman stated that as Mr Dymock was Deputy Chairman, an election would h-ive to take place at next meeting for the office of Leputy Chairman.
