held in the evening on the desirability of diverting the road in question. Mr \ incent and others requested the Board to clny and metal Hargood's road, and it was decided to call for tendars for the work.

Mr Spencer and others petitioned to have part of Bell's Creek cleared out. and the surveyor was instructed to endeavor to get the occupiers of the lands, through which the creek runs, to clear out their several portions.

Mr Jones and others, of Cashel street, wrote complaining of the water which is now lying in that street, and the surveyor was directed to attend to the matter at once. Mr Aynsley wrote requesting that the Hill road near Mr Pegram's and on to his house. be made at once, and the Board decided to have some necessary repairs done on it. Mr Smith of the Valley wrote complaining of the condition of part of the Valley road, and the surveyor was instructed to call for tenders for metalling portions of it. Mr Palairet wrote complaining of part of the Avon road, and the Board ordered the matter to be attended to, as also a nuisauce caused by the flow of the water from artesian wells on Stanmore road.

Mr Gittings requested the Board to metal the road near his house, and the Surveyor was directed to report on the road.

Mr Hawker waited on the Board, and drew its attention,, to the damage being done to his frontage through the flushing of the Ferry Road drain, and the Board decided to bring the matter under the notice of the City Council, with a view to their fixing a plank to prevent any further damage through the flushing done by the Council.

The Board decided to call for tenders for screening gravel for repairs, metalling the River road, near Mr Wilson's tannery, making Worcester street east, and Lower Avon road, near Mr Cowlishaw's, and for metalling Piper's road.

The Surveyor was directed to repair the Lower Avon road, near Mr P. Kerr's, and to deepen the drain adjacent thereto, and to repair the Stanmore road, and to have the side drains cleared out. Tenders for metalling road near Mr J. Stace's, metalling Matheson's road, forming and metalling St John's road and Colombo road footpath were accepted; also, an offer to asphalt Latter's bridge.
