ELLESMERE v. Q.O^
This match was played yesterij on Hagley Park and resulted in an eas; victory for the CC.C, they winning in oneinnings and one man to" spare, the bowling md batting of Mr J. Fowler tending in a gcat measure to bring about this result, te bowling no less than thirteen wiefcts in the two innings, and scoring forty-three runs, The small score of the Ellesmere in the first inning may be accounted for by their evidotly being totally unused to fast underbid bowling. However, taking advantage of their former experience, they made a far beter stand in their second innings, and Barker making double figure* Alington's 34 being put together by god all round hitting. Five men on the C.CC- side got into double figures, viz., Wofiaer, Wilson, Fowler, Barringer, and Harley.?
