♦ Dunedin—The Daily Times of Dec. 7 reports —The past day or two h".s not witnessed much briskness in the markets, the demand for goods lookiug rather duller than usual at the preseut tun.-, and few mattersof any importance going forward. Ia the auction rooms, as previously reported, some fair sales have been carried through, and these have been almost the only noticeable items. Iv oilmen's stores aud dried fruits there is a moderately good business doing, and sales of malt and galvanised iron (English brands), are reported, but all at quotations showing an unaltered state of the markets. In the produce market there is geuerally a slightly firmer feeling. The amount of wheats coming forward is light, and holders are looking for 5s to 5s 3d, millers, however, declining to give these rates. Rather a better enquiry exists for oats, the value of good feeding lots being 2s to 2s Id. For flour a fair demand is also reported; the town millers quote £13 as the rate for current transactions; country millers appear to be accepting lesser rates.
