Educational. WALTHAM DISTRICT. EDUCATIONAL MEETING. A MEMORIAL having- been presented to ■ the Board of Education from a considerable portion of the inhabitants of the Waltham district (as hereinafter described) praying for the formation of the locality into a separate educational district, I hereby give notice, in accordance with the provisions of the Education Ordinance,. 1871, that A PUBLIC MEETING of the owners and occupiers of land and householders reident in tbe locality will be held on WEDNESDAY, the 13th day of DECEMBER,. 1871, at seven o'clock p-m., at the Wesleyan Chapel, Waltham, for the purpose of ascertaining whether such owhers, occupiers of lan d, and house holders are willing that an Educational district should be formed under the Education Ordinance, 1871 ; and further, are willing to provide the proportion of the' expenses required for the establishment of a school under the said Ordinance. The following is a description of the boundaries of the district within which the memorialists reside: — A portion of Sections 48 and 48a, being within the boundaries of the present Lower Heathcote Educational district, commencing at the junction of the Lyttelton and Christchurch Railway with Colombo street south ; thence southerly along the latter and along Dyer's Pass road to the ridge of the Port Lyttelton hills ; thence .easterly along the said ridge to the road running to the west of section 2135; thence northerly along the said road to the road to the south of section 73 j thence easterly along the latter road, and northerly along the eastern boundary of the said section to the River Heathcote;. thence northerly along that river to the road to the east of section 410 ; thence northeasterly along-the 6aid road to the Christchurch and Lyttelton Railway, and thence north-westerly along the railway to the starting point.
