Mails close at the Chief Post-Office as under:— For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe (via Suez and Brindisi) for specially so addressed letters only ; also, India, China, tbe Australian colonies, and Northern Provinces of New Zealand by the s.s. Tararua, on Tuesday, December 12, at 1.30 p.m. For Otago, Southland, and intermediate ports, per s.s. Maori, on Tuesday, the 12th inst. For the Northern provinces of New Zealand, per the s.s. Taranaki, on Tuesday, the 12th inst., at 1.30 p.m. F. E. Weight. Chief Postmaster. NOTICE. The rates of postage to be charged in New Zealand on Correspondence for the United Kingdom via Brindisi, will be as follows :— Letters. s. d Not exceeding $ os* ... ... ... 010 Exceeding £oz and not exceeding 1 oz 1 8 Exceeding loz and not exceeding 1$ oz 2 6 And so on, lOd for every additional 4 oz or fraction of £ oz.
