Cargo for Nelson, 59 tons; for Wellington. 228 tons; for Ljttelton, 40 tons; for Otago, 53 tons. Melbottbne, Nov. 11. The Assembly has passed the Railway Construction Bill. The Council made amendments restricting the gauge to sft. Sin. The amendments were discussed in the Assembly. The debate has been adjourned till Tuesday. The Permissive Bill has passed the Assembly. A Bill to, protect., copyright.. telegraphic messages has been read a second time, and will probably be passed. The sudden death of Thomas Dempsey, a miner from Greymouth. is announced. The Ministerial whitebait dinner was attended by thirty-three supporters. A. Chess match between Sydney and Melbourne is proceeding. The inquiry into - the loss of the Loch Leven is nnfinished ; the wreck has gone to pieces ; 4300 bales have been salvaged out of 6500. Mr Fen wick, Mayor of the city, gave a dinner to 400 persons. Sydney, Nov. 11. The Government send a man-of-war to exact retribution for the murder of Bishop Patteson. Wool sales are not active, as sellers value too high to allow business. Teas are firm. There is great excitement regarding the Tumborooro reefs. Chang, the Chinese giant, has married a youDg lady from Geelong. Adelaide. Nov. 11. The Ministry has resigned. Mr Boucaut has been sent for, but declined. He suggested Mr Ayers, who undertook to form a cabinet, and failed. It is believed that the old team will return to harness. There is little doing in wheat. Hob art Town, Nov. 11. The City of Hobart Company, at Fingal, has crushed 233 ozs from 137 tons. More gold fields discoveries have been made on the Island.
