CORRESPONDENCE.
♦ : TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. SIR, —I beg you kindly to correct the false statement which appeared in thiß morning's issue of the Press, about the baud playing at the public ball, at tho Council Chambers, last evening. The baud was not under the direction of Herr Biinz. Mr Weber was the conductor and I was the leader—and also the repertoire of music played is the property of Mr F. Weber and myself. By inserting this in your valuable paper, and preventing future false reports, which sometimes injure professional musicians to a great cxteut. You will much oblige, yours obediently, J. Schmidt, Violinist. Christchurch, Nov. 16, 1871.
