ROAD OARDS.

EYF-ON. The usual meeting; this Board was held on Nov. 6th. Pres^—Messrs Coutts. Patterson, Weir, Bradle|and Dixon. As Mr Dixon did not arri]tul the business had commenced, Mr Co* occupied the chair. divide the balance to the following districts, viz.. to the Ohoka sub-district. £60: Kaiapoi Island do, £00; Plains do. £40; and Evrcton do. £40. " It was resolved to form part of the road on Kainpoi Island pnst Mr McLcod's. Tenders were ordered to be invited for claying parts of the Oxford and Ohoka roads. Mr Rosser applied for certain work to be carried out to Jackson's road. The Board decided they had no funds available at present for the work. It was resolved to vote. £5 for a culvert near Clist _ hotel, and that twelve planks be given to Mr Smith for a culvert on Smith's road, he undertaking to place them in the culvert. It was resolved that the proprietors of land fronting on Englcfield's drain be informed that if they will contribute one shilling per chain, the Board will invite tenders for the necessary work. The Chairman was desired to ascertain the probable cost of building an office for the Board. Tenders were opened for shingling Smith's road, and Mr Smith's tender accepted. For forming the Oxford trunk road, lengths Nos. 1 and 2, the tender of Mr Winter was accepted ; and for No. 3, that of Mr Kenninney was accepted. For shingling the south Eyre road, the tender of J. McCue was accepted ; and for forming Cherry's road, Mr Winter's tender was accepted. After passing accounts, the Board then adjourned.
