The Avstrahsian of the 4th reports :— In the prodnce marke'; the utmost depression is allowed to prevail. In breadstuffs flour continues to meet with great neglect : the demand is very limited, and confined wholly to the supply of trade requirements. Quotations throughout the week have stood at £12 10s to £12 15s for trade parcels, and up to £13 is obtained for small lots. Wheat likewise is in a most unsatisfactory state, but while flouris weak and tending downwards, wheat, on the other haud, hns shown more firmness and steadiness. On Thursday holders were firm at 5s 10d for best Adelaide. On Friday, best Adelaide was steady at os 10d. Port McDonnell was offering at os 9d ; but a penny less wonld not have been refused. On Monday an improved inquiry was evinced, but as holders could not afford to quote under os lid to 6s, a figure which buyers were not inclined to give, no sales were, reported. Yesterday, prime Adelaide was offering at 5s 10d to 5s lid. About 2000 bushels were disposed of in one line at within onr quotation. A few small parcels were placed at os lid. By auction, a parcel of i>oo bushels was quitted "at os 7d. About 2000 bushels New Zealand wheat has also been disposed of at about ss. In the South Australian market, wheat, early in the week, was quitted at 4s fid. but now 4s 7d is readily obtained, as which price the market is very firm. On Saturday, no business was reported ; quotations, according to quality, ranged from 3s 6d to 3s Sd. This quotation has since been maintained, but no actual sales have come under our notice. Maize is dull, and difficult to move ; quotations throughout the week have etood at 3s 9d to Sβ lOd, but the sales have been few and uaimportaat, Malting barley meets with.
