PORT OF KAIAPOI.
ARRIVED. April 25—Gazelle, s.s., McLellan, from Lytcelton. IN RIVER. April 25—Margaret, Jane Elkin, Annie Jupiter, Gazelle, s.s. .Messrs McMeckan, Blackwood and Co.'s s.s. Rangitoto, Captain H. Mackie, arrived in harbour yesterday, at 9.15 a.m., from Melbourne via West Coast ports and Wellington. She left Hobson's Bay at 2.50 p.m. on the loth instant, and cleared the Straits at 1 p.m. on the following day; experienced light E.S.E. winds and fine weather, and arrived off Hokitika at 9 p.m. on the 20th. transhipped mails, passengers, and cargo, and left for the Grey at 6.30 a.m, on the 21st, arriving at 8.30 a.m.; was tendered at 10 a.m.. and sailed for Nelson at 11 a.m., and arrived in port on Saturday, at 7 a.m. Sailed again at 11 p.m., and arrived at Wellington at 9 a.m. on Sunday; left for Lyttelton on Monday, at 4 p.m., and arrived as above. We have to thank Mr Mailer, purser, for files. The Rangitoto sails for Melbourne via Dunedin and the Bluff this day. The s.s. Beautiful Star, Captain J. Hart, sailed for Dunedin via other ports yesterday, at 1 p.m. The schooner Wild Wave, Captain Flett, cleared the Customs yesterday, for Westport, with- a cargo of produce, shipped by McConnell and Co. The brigantine Catherina, arrived in Sydney from this port on the Bth instant, making a fine run of nine days. The s.s. Moa was launched from Messrs Flett and Loutitt's slip yesterday morning.
