LYTTELTOX. Monday. Gth March. Present—The Mayor, C'rs. Bunker, Yuiuig. Graham, Grubb, and" Chalmers. The following correspondence was read : — To Mr Nalder re the solicitor-ship, and answer from him thereto. To Mr J. T. Kouse respecting the drainage, and informing him that the Council intend to take the matter into their consideration. Letter to Mr Wexham, Duuediti. asking him to forward the price of drainage pipes, as manufactured by him. From R. Bel grave, asking the Council to attend to the asphalte pavement iv front of his hotel, as the water finds its way into his cellar, and he is placed at considerable expense in consequence. GiU'UB seconded the motion conditionally upon the same sum being otVered to the other tenderer, if refused by Mr Farr. Or. 0 HALM Kits moved—"That fresh tenders be invited." Or Yot'XG seconded the motion. His Wobsiiip ruled that Cr. Uraham's motion was not seconded, and so it lapsed. Or. Chalmers' amendment then became the original motion, and was carried. The Council then adjourned.
