Messrs E. Mitchell and Co* live stock report for the week ending April 23:—Tbe number of cattle yarded during the past week has been unusually small, and anything like prime beef has fully maintained last week's quotations. A large number of sheep havo passed the yards; the whole finding ready purchasers. Store wethers are in good demand, and balf-breds are keenly competed for. We have numerous enquiries for Leicester rams; and the small lot of ram lambs sold by us on Saturday last (on account of Mr W. Boag) averaged 55a per head. We have sold at the following rates—fat wethers of 541 bs each, 7s 6J; heifers, £8 10*; steers at £9 17s 6d, equal to 30a per lOOlbs. Store cattle—We hare quitted a small lot of -two yean old heifers end steers at £5 10s ncr head. Draught horses—We have sold inferior at £10 to £25 } good and warranted staunch, £25 to £35 • light hones are quite uns-le-bl©.
