TN Pursuance of the provisions of an Act of -*- the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled The Begulation of Elections Aot, 185S, and of another Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled The Provincial Elections Act, 1858, I, William Donald, Principal Returning OiHoer of Christchurch for the Province of Canterbury, do HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the Twenty-fifth day of March, 1870, issued under tho hand of His Excellency the Governor, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the TOWN HALL, Christchurch, on MONDAY, the Eleventh day of APRIL, 1870 ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on MONDAY, the Second day of MAY, 1870.
