THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT is PREPARED to RECEIVE PBOPOSALS for the CONSTRUCTION of a RAILWAY to the north, from the mitetn side of Christchurch, in accordance with the resolutions of the Provincial Council of hit seseion. The Government has in hand a Bum of £50,000, whioh is available towards the purchase of land, and the conetraotion of the work. Particulars will shortly be prepared as to the coot of the purohaee of land on altarnatiT© lines.
