The limits within which euch gae wor&e aa aforesaid are intended to be made extend to and include all lands lying within a radiue of five mile* from the centre of the Market-place in the City of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury. Such gas works as aforesaid are intended to be mado and maintained in and through the City of Chrietchurch and portioneof the Avon, Riccarton, Templeton, Spreydon, Halowell, and Heathcote Road Boards Districts. The works for tho manufaoturo of gae are erected on a certain parcel of land containing by admeasurement one acre more or less being part of the rural section No. 176 on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury, commencing at a point on the western boundary of the eaid section distant seven chains thirty links or thereabouts from the north-western corner thereof running thence along the eaid boundary northerly a distance of two chains thenoe at a right angle easterly a distance of three chains eighty links thenco at a right angle southerly a distance of three chains eighty-six links and thence by a direct line north-westerly to the commencing point. It is not intended to apply for powers to remove the works for tho manufacture of gae from the land aforesaid. The plans and book of reference and copy of notice to be inserted in tho Gazette will be deposited for public inspection at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands for tho Province of Canterbury in the City of Chrietchurch aforesaid on or before the 28th day of February instant and will on or before the commencement of the session be deposited in the office of the Colonial Secretary end in the Private Bills office.
