PRELIMINARY ADVERTISEMENT. mHE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT is i PREPARED to RECEIVE PROPOSALS for the CONSTRUCTION of a RAILWAY to the north, from the western aide of Cbristchureh, in accordance with the resolutions of the Provincial Council of last session. The Government hae in hand a sum of £50,000, which is available towards the purchaae of land, and the construction of the work. Particulars will shortly be prepared as to the cost of the purchase of land on alternative lines.
