Waiboa.—The late expedition of the Wairoa natives, assisted by the flower of the Mohaka people, against Te Waru, returned without effecting their object; but fortunately they came across a party of Hauhaue and killed seven of them. One taken prisoner gave the information that Te Kooti had gone to attack Mohaka. Being thus providentially warned, a body of Europeans hurried, with the natives on towards Mohaka, and succeeded in throwing a reinforcement into the pa, thus saving it from capture, they were, however y not strong enough to defeat or capture the rebels.—" Hawke's Bay Times," April 15.
