The lighter William, belonging to Messrs Cameron Brothers, was driven ashore near the mouth of the tunnel during the late gale. The damage; done to her is .slight. She now lies high end dry on the bank. , '
The ps Comerang, Captain Thomas Chrisp* arrived in harbour at 10 am on Sunday. She left Dunlin at.s pm on Friday, arrived at Timaru at Bam on Saturday, took in 50 bales wool, and left at 7 p m, on account of heavy gale; passed Akaroa in consequence of S £ gale not subsiding, and arrived in Lyttelton as above, thus making the run from Timaru in 16 hours.
The s s Lord Ashley, Captain Worsp,. sailed at lpm -yesterday for Wellington and Northern ports. 5
The s s Gothenburg, Captain Underwood, sailed at 415 p m for Melbourne via Wellington, Iffelson and Hokitika.
