Commercial.
The amount received at the Customs on Saturday for duties was £110 2s 3d. Messrs Wilson and Alport yarded 21 head of cattle at the Cashel street yards on Saturday. Dairy cows were dull of sale. Store steers and young stock Bold readily at an improvement in price. Mr J. H. Bennett, on Thursday last, sold by auction, at the Spreydon Arms Hotel, 4195 sheep at prices ranging from Is 3d to 2s 3d. On Friday Mr W. S. Moorhouse's stock was sold by auction at the Spreydon Arms. 185 head of cattle Jwere yarded and all sold at the following prices :—Young heifers from £4 to £5 ; steers, £4 12s 6d to £5 17s 6d ; good store cows, £5 2s 6d to £7 7s 6d ; fat cows, beef, £9 12s 6d to £11 10s; store steers, £8 12s 6d to £9 15s ; breeding sows, £1 5s to £2 7s 6d ; small pigs, 8s 6d. The attendance was large, and the bidding spirited. The accommodation afforded by Mr Styche, of the Spreydon Arms, was iv every way complete.
