Government Notices. PUBLIC NOTICE. I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, pursuant to Clause VI. of the Canterbury Waste ! Lands Act, 1866, that an APPLICATION has been LODGED in the Land Office, Christchurch, by Messrs Wataon and Browne, as holders of Pasturage License No. 45, Class 3, and by Thomas Arthur Clowes, as holder of Pasturage License No. 224, Class 3, to have the south-eastern boundary of tho said Run ( No. 45, and the north-western boundary of the said Run No. 224 amended, in accordance vith Clause 111. of the Act above 'referred to. If any person can show cause why the said ' boundary of the said Runs should not be altered, the same must be made known to the Waste Lands Board, Christchurch, before Thursday, the 6th day of May next. That capitalists be invited to undertake the construction of a cheap railway from Christchurch to tho South Bank of the Kowai, and to furnish the necessary rolling stock, buildings, &c." "2. That it be a request to the Government to take by Ordinance or otherwise such steps as may be necessary to make £30,000 of the unexpended balaace of the loan, and any interest that may accrue thereon, available as a fond for guaranteeing capitalists* Interest on the cost of the said railway." "3. That before any tender be accepted the sanction of the Provincial Council be first obtained."
