The "News," of the 30th ult., says :— The weather tho last few days haß been m("Wnt.>!r n ~ . .; diving the loading which had tv -I;.) •'. i ior some weeks to be dispatched. The market is pretty well supplied with almost every description of goods. Spirits move off slowly. Whiskey in bulk is scarce, and commands outside prices. Ale and beer —Market full, being well supplied by provincial brewed. Oilmen's stores are slightly in demand, but no alterations in prices. In flour prices are firm. Messrs Dalgety, Rattray and Co. continue to import a first-class article from Oamaru, which finds increasing favour, preventing any great rise in price. Adelaide, £15 ; Oamaru, £12 10a; Provincial, £12. Some new teas were sold under the hammer this week at Is 8d to 2s in bond ; prices, for the quality, not considered satisfactory by the importers. Sugars at the same time brought £39 for white crystals, £38 for grey crystals, and £36 to £37 for yellow. As Messrs Dalgety, Rattray and Co. expect a shipment shortly, prices are not likely to rule higher. Tho goods ex Prospector are being landed in most excellent condition.
