RESIDENT MAGISTRATES COURT.
CHHiSTCHtTKCH—December 4. [Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.] Richard Stringer was charged with breaking four panes of glass, and refusing to leave the licensed house of Francis Innes, Caledonian road. The case being proved, defendant naj ordered to pay for tho damage done. Rhodes and Wilkin v. Milne—Claim for expenses incurred in maintaining defendant's wife and family. The case was adjourned till Thursday, for the evidence of defendant's wife. Turnbull and Dearner t<. Lockhart—Claim for professional services. Dr. Foster appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr Harper for defendant The defendant's counsel submitted that defi-ndant was not liable for tho amount, as ho had made au assignment. Dr. Foster contended that the doed of assignment did not interfere with the present claim. His Worshin said he did not feel quite certain as to the law of the case, and would adjourn it for a week
